The current reading experience
The public reading pages are designed to work without advertising cookies, optional analytics or reader accounts. Optional Ghost analytics, member-source tracking and newsletter tracking are switched off. The theme does not load a subscription portal or external search widget, and its navigation does not require tracking cookies or browser storage.
Cookies are not the only way to store or access information on a device. Similar rules can apply to local storage, tracking pixels and other technologies. This site's approach is to leave optional tracking disabled, rather than ask you to accept it.
Why there is no accept-or-reject banner
No optional cookie or tracking category is enabled on the public reading pages for you to accept. A consent banner would therefore offer no meaningful choice in the current configuration. If a future feature requires consent, it must remain off until you choose it, with an equally accessible way to refuse and withdraw permission.
Necessary hosting, network delivery, security and administrative sign-in functions may still process technical information or use essential storage when needed. Administrative sign-in is separate from ordinary reading. Disabling optional analytics does not stop the IP address and request information needed to deliver a page.
Control on your device
You can inspect, block or delete cookies and site storage through your browser's privacy settings. Clearing site data can also remove anything saved during an earlier visit, before the subscription and analytics features were disabled. It should not prevent ordinary reading of this website.
This website does not carry out cross-site advertising tracking or sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. Its current configuration provides that experience whether or not your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals; these signals do not require you to unlock an extra privacy setting here.
External websites
Following a link to a publisher, a document host or another service takes you outside this site. That service may use its own cookies and data practices. A plain link does not load that service's tracking code on this website.
